In the immediate period, I am contacting my manager and the Facilities Supervisor directing they will stand down from issusance of any " demand" and property currently in the STC breakroom shall remain in place and is not to moved, discarded, ór handled by any person other than the owner.

There is a dispute occurring at the Sunset Transit break room between operators and maintenance about how the center should be configured and what goes in them.
As an operator I request the right to bring items into the break room for our enjoyment and comfort. Maintenance will has DEMANDED that all such items be removed or else they will steal them from us.
We request your help on this matter.

Tri-Met Bus Hits, Kills Bicyclist
BEAVERTON, Ore. - A bicyclist died in an accident involving a Tri-Met
bus late Monday afternoon.
It happed about 4:40 pm, just west of Murray Boulevard on Farmington
Road in Beaverton. The fatal accident forced the total closure of
Farmington for about 40 minutes, but it remained partially closed
after that, disrupting traffic around the busy Murray-Farmington
intersection throughout the evening rush hour.
The Tri-Met bus was operated by a 53-year old veteran driver. The
Hillsboro woman is a long-time employee of Tri-Met, and has driven
buses for the transit agency for at least the past six years. Initial
reports are that the Line #52 bus was pulling over to a bus stop on
Farmington, just west of Murray, when the accident happened. There was
a bicycle lane on that stretch of road, but as of late Monday night,
police were not saying whether they thought the bike rider was in that
lane. They also were not saying who was at fault in the tragic accident.
Police say the bicyclist, a young adult male, died instantly. Hours
later, his mangled bicycle remained on the nearby sidewalk.

65-year-old woman struck by a TriMet bus
PORTLAND, Ore. - A 65-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon after getting struck by a TriMet bus.
The incident happened just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast 21st Avenue and Northeast Multnomah Street.
After speaking with witnesses, police believe the TriMet bus was in the process of making a turn when it struck a woman who was crossing the intersection with the walk signal.
The bus driver told police she stopped for the pedestrian and continued the turn after she thought the woman had finished crossing the street. Investigators believe the driver lost sight of the pedestrian and continued her turn while the woman was still in the intersection.
The woman who was hit has been identified as Patricia Smith. She was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
The TriMet bus driver has been identified as 42-year-old Tracey Hughes. Police said they may issue citations once the investigation is comple

If TriMet is sincere about crimes and not trying to wage a class war at the behest of the suburban middle-class politicians and the PBA, prove its sincerity by (1) provide low-income reduced fares; (2) eliminate zones on weekends and off-peak hours; (3) donate at least 10,000 tickets each month to various social service agencies and churches; (4) impose a 5-year moratorium on fare increases; (5) eliminate fines for fare evasions and replace with court-mandated community service. Can you think of more?

However you came to the decision to retain fare less, I think you did the right thing from a customer relations standpoint.
I would like to recommend to you however, that your "review" not be limited to just fare less Square, but should include the entire fare structure employed by this organization.
The ticket/transfer/zone/pass structure as it is employed now, is really a disgrace and needs to be overhauled.
This would be a good time to do it.
Just my 2 cents.
