PRESIDENT OF FRED'S FAN CLUB SEEMS CONFUSED

We all know that Fred is making the claim that he should recieve pay for some of the days that he is providing South Australia with his wonderful knowledge, such as bailouts and futures contracts.
However this member of the fan club keeps telling us that Fred is not going to get paid.

Hansen's decision
I want to clarify for your readers that from the outset, it was General Manager Fred Hansen's decision to use his vacation time and "unpaid" furlough for his consultation on light rail in Australia ("TriMet chief limits cost of Australia trip to taxpayers," May 23).

As president of the TriMet Board, I fully support his sharing his expertise with other municipalities. We are extremely proud of his leadership in making TriMet's light-rail system a model, not only in this country but around the world.
