STEVE BANTA

As we prepare for tomorrow's grand opening of the Green Line, I want to thank everyone on the Operations team who has worked diligently to make sure that this new line will open successfully and can be integrated into our overall service.
After two weeks of fine tuning the operating plans and service delivery methods we are more comfortable with our new operating environment. It has been a collaborative effort with our partners in capital projects, and I want to thank them for their work.
While it comes a day before we reduce service on many of our bus lines, it is important to remember that tomorrow is an opportunity for us to put our best feet forward and demonstrate to potential new riders why so many people chose TriMet buses and trains for their commute. Whether you are working on the front line, in facilities, transportation, maintenance of way, or behind the scenes you all play a critical role in making our service a success.
More than 25,000 people are expected to attend the celebrations tomorrow. Some of them may be new to riding TriMet service. Please take the time to provide a smile and a welcome to riders, and help make their experience one that they will want to repeat.
Thank you again for your hard work and commitment to your customers. Well done!

THESE TRIMET RIDERS WILL NOT BE AT THE GREEN LINE CELEBRATION

COMMENTS FROM A VIEWER IN NY

Thanks, you guys over there at Tri-Met have my respect for what you put up with. Your videos really show an insight onto what public transportation is like in many parts of the U.S. I love your videos, both being interested in buses and public transportation, I am sure learning alot. I sure hope and pray the State of Oregon and Trimet will wake up and restore those buses they cut. Your videos are giving folks who depend on transit hope, because finally someone is speaking out. Thank you so much.
