I was once (or twice) chastised for placing my bike on the inside rack; the driver(s) complained that they can't see the bike when it's loaded in this way. I felt bad because it makes it harder for the next guy, but whatever.
What's the "correct" spot to load the first bike?
This is a point of hot dispute.
Speaking as a bus driver I prefer if the bike is loaded in the position farthest away from the driver the outside position. That way I remember the bike rack is down.
Bikers prefer that the first bike be loaded in the spot closet to the driver, that way the second bike can be loaded with less difficulty.
It's better for a biker to load in the outside spot, because unloading is much easier if someone does put another bike on. I guess that is a little selfish.
I say load on the outside rack!
